History Bolier

In 1949 Cees Bolier bought Machinefabriek ‘Avontuur’ located in the center of Dordrecht. Cees Bolier renamed the company Machinefabriek Bolier. In 1955, the first MaK engine was built in and three years later Bolier became a qualified service centre for MaK marine engines.
After ten years was the location in the center of Dordrecht no longer suitable and in 1965 Bolier moved to the Tweede Merwedehaven. There was plenty of room for further expansion and three stern docks were purchased for the execution of propeller and shaft repairs. Currently Bolier is still located here.

In 1999 Bolier becomes an official Service Excellence Center for Caterpillar / MaK and in the following year (2000) a the Certified Rebuild Centre for remanufacturing MaK products. MaK Méditerranée (in Marseille, France) was acquired by Bolier in 2005. In that same year Pon bought Bolier.
Classification society Germanischer Lloyd (GL) has rated Bolier with the highest quality level (Platinum) according to the Marine Service Assessment of Caterpillar.
